Make Pet Travel A Breeze With Airline Approved Pet Carriers

Using airline approved pet carriers for your plane trip will help keep you and your dog stress-free. When it comes to pet carriers, you want to be sure that you are absolutely certain before heading to the airport that you understand all of the requirements and guidelines that you will need to meet if you’re going to be allowed to take your pet on board.

During air travel your large dog will be riding in another area of the plane, separate from the passengers. Smaller dogs and cats can be brought into the passenger area of the plane as carry on luggage. You are only allowed to do this if the carrier you have meets airline regulations. The safest place for the pet carrier is on the floor in front of you. If you do this, your animal will be able to rest contentedly, since you’re nearby.

Room for turning and laying down is essential for the animal’s comfort. It’s imperative that your airline approved pet carriers satisfy your pet’s demands in these areas.

One of the things you should also look for in pet carriers is the ability to roll on wheels while moving.

You love your pet like family, so why would you settle for any method of travel less safe than an airline approved pet carrier? Invest in a carrier that satisfies airline rules and lets your pet move freely inside. Then you can be confident that they will always be safe and secure in their carrier when they are traveling.

Finding Hotels That Are Pet Friendly

Executive summary about Pet Hotel by David C. Reynolds

Admittedly, very few hotels are pet friendly - at least in my area near SFO. The reason is mainly economic - for every request I get for a pet friendly room, I get five room requests that say “Due to Allergies No Chemicals or Odors Please, Cleaning or Pet”. Is a hotel going to then allow pets infrequently and risk losing five times the traffic to those who can tell a dog has been in a room?

If you are researching a specific area before you leave, there are several websites that exhibit pet friendly lodgings. You’ll see a list of sites that recommend pet friendly properties for almost every city in the country.

If you paid with a credit card, most pet hotel will tack on an extra cleaning fee when they discover a pet was in the room. Claiming you didn’t know it was not ok is a defenseless argument - anyone that has had pets for any length of time KNOWS most hotels do not allow pets.

If you have any sense of responsibility for your pets, you will want to stay where they are welcome.

Pet Boarding can be a good experience for your pet if you have made the proper preparations. The number one step is checking out the boarding facility and making sure it is clean and doesn’t smell.

Make a list of questions to ask the staff such as

  • Are all boarders required to have up to date vaccinations?
  • Are the pets allowed quality time for play and potty breaks each day?
  • Can you have references from other boarders to see how they rate the facility?

Provide the facility with your pet’s diet and information on any health conditions or behavioral patterns that need to be addressed. Be sure to provide any medication your pet needs.

Leave information on your pet’s veterinary clinic in case of emergency. Provide another contact person to authorize any emergency treatment if you cannot be reached making it quicker for your pet to get the necessary treatment he might need.

When you have picked the right boarding facility be calm and happy when leaving your pet. No tearful goodbyes which can be upsetting to both you and your pet. Enjoy your vacation knowing your pet is in good hands.

How to Know Your Pet Dogs Are in a Good Dog Boarding Place

Have you considered that a place like pet boarding can provide you with the same care you give your pet?

Moreover, keeping your pet with a professional is really comforting, you might as well ask if the place that offers the dog boarding service has a veterinarian present or is owned by one. It is common for a pet owner and lover to be concerned on the health of their dog.

Make sure that the dog boarding you will entrust your dog with is strict with requiring proof of vaccination from pet owners. It will always be best that you get the feel of the place first, visit the dog boarding place and talk with the staff. If you see the place by yourself, you will know if your dog will be provided with enough clean space to move around and exercise.
